Two-factor authentication for your URIports account
Two-factor or Multi-Factor authentication (2FA/MFA) is a proven method that many apps use to secure your online account in addition to the username/password login method. When you use 2FA for an account, apart from providing a username and a password to log in, you also need to provide another piece of information. The most common is a time-based, one-time password (TOTP). After you've set up 2FA, we will ask for this additional password whenever you log in to your URIports account. Read more about 2FA.

Enable two-factor authentication
Enabling 2FA for your URIports account is easy. First, log in with your credentials; press the user icon in the top-right corner and press Settings. Then, under the Security section, press the Enable Two-Factor Auth link. You will see something like this:
Scan the QR code with your preferred authenticator app, like Google Authenticator, Authy, or something else. This generates a code that you must enter in the popup. The next time you log in, you'll have to enter your credentials and the code generated by your 2FA authenticator.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: WRITE DOWN THE SECRET CODE SOMEWHERE SAFE
When you enable 2FA, please remember that a backup method is mandatory in case you are unable to access your authenticator app. This can happen when you accidentally remove the authenticator app from your phone, your phone breaks down, or you drop it in the toilet, and you flush it, etc. So please write down the 16-character secret code and save it in a safe place. For example, you can write the code down on a piece of paper and store it in your password manager or somewhere else where it'll be safe and accessible when you need it.
If you don't write down this 16 character code and can't access your phone or authentication app, YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO ACCESS YOUR ACCOUNT. And we CANNOT recover your account!
It is not a question of if you accidentally lose your phone; it's a question of when. So please, write down the secret code somewhere. If you lose the secret code, we cannot restore your account.
